• Images that are not content but presentation can be defined as background
• Should define a compatible background colour just in case user has turned images off
• If parts of the image are transparent, the background colour will show

This is a paragraph with an animated gif of hopping goldfish as a background image. The image is repeated in both the X and Y directions as this is a very long paragraph that therefore requires a large image as a background. also the background looks a lot better if you have the goldfish marching like an army across the screen.
